A word to the wise

I believe I have mentioned how very spoiled by my husband I have been.

It is developing that that is not necessarily a good thing.

His physical condition is improving, but he is caught in the jaws of what I believe to be (I pray to be) ICU psychosis. My husband is a most logical and organized man, and I believe that his mind helped him cope by taking him somewhere else. He is not violent or dangerous. He is working busily on projects such as a concert of African music (possibly because one of his caregivers is a beautiful Nigerian woman with a melodic voice?).

At any rate, I spoke to the doctors and nurses to develop a plan to bring him back to us (which may not happen, I must keep telling myself) until I bring him home.

We arrived at, among other things, that I should plan to take our two Corgis in to visit him. They let you do that in some hospitals now, did you know?

Of course there are rules. Dogs must be clean and well-groomed and you must provide proof of rabies innoculation. Our dogs have been vaccinated, but do I know where my husband keeps the paperwork? I do not.

The vet's office, of course, has proof of the shots, and I must go today and fetch the copies, then stop at Staples and make MORE copies (unless I can con the vet into doing it for me) because the grooming salon also requires such proof and I must deliver one set to the hospital today to prepare for a possible visit tomorrow, but cannot take the dogs for grooming until tomorrow.

You see what I mean?

Sit down with your significant other and make sure everybody knows where everything is.

And if either of you know where our box of checks is located, do let me know.

My mood: very frazzled

Feeling blessed

Hey, I'm doing good to remember where my own box of checks is! But this is good advice. We all need to think about what somebody else would need to know to step in and keep our life running for us while we're out of commission.
